Green Hope Cross Country

The 2022 racing season began on Saturday August 13^th with the Kickoff Classic 3K at Wake Med. The race is not a traditional race as teams are split up into 2 races:  9^th-10^th graders in one and 11^th-12^th in another.  Overall it was a great day of racing as 18 of 24 boys set new career 3K PRs and 4 of 13 girls set new career 3K bests.  The boy’s 11^th-12^th grade team won their team race as Gavin Hansen (9:11--the 2nd fastest 3K time ever at GH), Luke Young (9:21--7th fastest 3K time in GH history), Liam Young (9:34), Dax Mahone (9:40), and Andrew Vo (9:54) all broke 10:00.  Alice Emel led the girls with a new personal best time of 12:11.  Next up is the EarlyBird Challenge, a new 5K at Wake Med on Saturday the 20^th.
