The Green Hope girls ended a remarkable 2010 GHXC season when they traveled to Portland, Oregon, and competed in the Nike Cross Nationals (see highlight video). The girls earned an all-expense paid trip out west and finished 10th at the prestigious event. The girls battled very difficult conditions, running in the mud, wind, and very cold temperatures to reach their goal of completing the year in the top 10 in the nation.

As the first North Carolina girls team to qualify for nationals and running the fastest times ever in North Carolina this season, the 2010 girls are widely recognized as the best team in the state's history. The 7 girls had an amazing time at NXN and with only 1 senior in the top 7, the girls will now work towards earning a return trip to Oregon in 2011. The 7 girls who competed in Oregon were: Olivia Enright, Lauren Colberg, Erica Amatori, Jessie Rossabi, Charlotte Brown, Shewit Weldense, and Mo McDonnell.

Congratulations to the girls and best of luck to everyone as runners now prepare for track season.
