On Saturday, November 27th, 21 Green Hope runners competed in the Nike Southeast Regional at Wake Med. The Varsity girls, competing as the Western Cary Track Club, became the 1st North Carolina girls team and only the 3rd North Carolina school overall to qualify for the Nike National team finals in Oregon, as the girls finished 2nd to perennial power Tatnall of Wilmington, Delaware. The girls continued an amazing run this year and were led by 3rd team all southeast region runners Erica Amatori and Jessie Rossabi. The top 7 girls earned an all-expense paid trip to Portland, Oregon, next weekend that will include numerous events sponsored by Nike, including the national final on Saturday. They will depart Cary on Thursday and return Sunday evening.

The Girls B team also placed 2nd in the Open Race against many varsity teams from the region and were led by freshman Taylor Buscemi's 2nd place finish. The Boys JV team placed 21st in the Open Race.

Best of luck to the girls varsity in Oregon as they make a run at a top 10 finish in the nation.
